Years ago I saw in a dream the Statue of Liberty she was holding the torch in her left hand and the book in her right – the exact reverse of the actual statue. When I was later contemplating the nature and meaning of the dream I came to Isaiah 5 and I realized the Lord was saying there would be a time when the nation would have things backward / reversed. Isaiah 5:20 says Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! William Penn said “Men must be governed by God or they will be ruled by tyrants.” So we now find ourselves in this place. The immediate prognosis is not encouraging – John Adams said “We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” However, God is still listening to our cries – and many are crying out. I do not know how far down the road to tyranny and slavery we will go as a people (moral and governmentally) for where confusion reigns there is every evil work (James 3:15). But I am assured it will turn, at what cost and at what time I can not say, but it will turn. There will be those prepared of the Lord, hardened, perhaps, purified, most assuredly, but those who are prepared of the Lord to help put things together and bind up the wounds and introduce the downtrodden and disenfranchised to the great physician (Hos 6:1-3; Is 61:1-5). The Lord will not cast us off forever (Lam 3:31).
Hosea 6:1“Come, let us return to the LORD. For He has torn us, but He will heal us; He has wounded us, but He will bandage us.
2“He will revive us after two days; He will raise us up on the third day, That we may live before Him.
3“So let us know, let us press on to know the LORD. His going forth is as certain as the dawn; And He will come to us like the rain, Like the spring rain watering the earth.”
Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you.
3 The Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising.
4 “Lift up your eyes all around, and see: They all gather together, they come to you; Your sons shall come from afar, And your daughters shall be nursed at your side.
5 Then you shall see and become radiant
